Collector Car Due Diligence · inspection before purchase

Collector Car Due Diligence before you commit.

A persuasive presentation is not evidence. KUKUK examines the technical, historical and commercial assumptions behind a significant collector car before you bid, sign or transfer funds.

Independent KUKUK inspection before a collector car acquisition
01

Who is it for?

For private collectors, family offices, institutions and their advisers considering an auction, dealer purchase, private sale or international acquisition.

02

At what moment?

Before bidding, contract, payment or the expiry of an inspection period, particularly where values are significant, records are incomplete or originality claims are material to price.

03

What do we examine?

  • Identity, numbers and component consistency
  • Condition, concealed damage and foreseeable technical work
  • Originality and previous restoration quality
  • Documents, history and provenance
  • Material representations by seller, dealer or auction house
  • Relationship between findings, asking price and market context
04

What do you receive?

You receive a prioritised risk assessment with documented findings and a clear decision briefing. The mandate may include file review, inspection at the vehicle location, targeted forensic analysis and a closing consultation.

05

How does KUKUK protect confidentiality?

KUKUK agrees in advance how to interact with the seller, dealer or auction house. The client’s identity, budget and purchase intention are disclosed only where necessary and authorised.

06

What is the next step?

Share the vehicle, location, records, seller contact and decision deadline. For urgent acquisitions, KUKUK first prioritises the questions most likely to affect risk and value.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can due diligence be completed under a short deadline?

This depends on location, access, documentation and the questions involved. State the decision deadline in the first enquiry.

Is a review based only on documents possible?

Yes, as a first stage. It does not replace physical inspection where condition, materials, stampings or concealed damage matter.

Does KUKUK tell the client whether to buy?

KUKUK explains findings, risks and their significance. The final commercial decision remains with the client.

Does due diligence replace the buyer’s decision?

No. KUKUK documents findings, risks and their significance. Valuation, negotiation and the final acquisition decision remain with the client.

What happens when evidence is incomplete?

Missing records and inaccessible areas are identified as limitations. Technical evidence, documents and external primary sources are assessed separately before conclusions are drawn.

How are confidential findings handled?

Recipients and disclosure are agreed at the outset. Findings are not shared with sellers or other third parties without the client’s authorisation.
